American country guitarist best known for playing Dobro and pedal steel guitar.Married to Donna Darlene.
Known for his innovative instrument designs, represented by the steel guitar and his seven-string dobro. He designed and manufactured guitars under the name Sho-Bud. He worked with numerous artists including Roy Acuff and Kitty Wells.
Inducted into the Steel Guitar Hall of Fame in 1986..
