Richard Gottehrer

Real name: Richard David Gottehrer

American producer, songwriter and label executive.
Born: June 12, 1940 in The Bronx, New York, USA.

He began his career in Brill Building.
After his early 60's No.1's with The Angels (3)'s "My Boyfriend's Back", McCoys' "Hang On Sloopy" and The Strangeloves' "I Want Candy", he co-founded Sire with Seymour Stein in 1966. He has produced through the years Blondie, Go-Go's, Richard Hell etc.
In 1997, he co-founded The Orchard, a digital music distribution company, with Scott Cohen.
His companies are Instant Records Production, Instant Records, Inc. and the label Instant Records (11). In 2010 he relaunched Blue Horizon (as Blue Horizon (3) with new logo).
