Ghosts & Monsters
Effective period / Period of releases: 2023
Members: Mike Moore (8), Daniel O'Brien-Bravi
Portland, OR.Formed by Mike Moore and Daniel O'Brien-Bravi in 2009. Paul Myron Hobson is also considered a founding member.
The name is a reference to the content of movies from Mike Moore's favorite genre at the time being "horror." The name "Ghosts & Monsters & Shit" was briefly considered.
The trio had a penchant for naming songs by the number in which they were chronologically written, 1-10, then renaming them for release.
Performed as a five-piece (with Mark Johnston on rhythm guitar, live) until Nic (vocals) was kicked out in 2011.
Paul (drums) took a brief hiatus in 2011, during which Sam Pape joined on drums for the writing/recording of one song, known as "999999999," which was posted to Bandcamp as "New/Untitled 01," but never performed live.
The group reformed as a three-piece with Paul on drums in 2012 to finish writing and recording songs 7 and 8 which were later renamed as "We're dealing with wet garbage over here," and "Prizza and Crandy bars," respectively. The trio was inactive from 2012-2013 before getting together to write song 10, later renamed "Broo! Scared Ya!," which was only performed live once at their last show on October 13, 2013.
A version of 1, renamed "Tour? Nope. Bus? Not That Either, Sorry" for the ep "Do Not Sleep," was released with Timmy Williams (from the comedy group "The Whitest Kids U Know") on vocals, called "Hugs Are Special!"
