Dex Dubious

Real name: Drew Kennedy

Musician, producer and remixer.

In 1998, after a decade of playing in rock, punk and rap bands, Drew Kennedy adapted the name Dex Dubious, with the band the DBC, and forged ahead as a producer. Utilizing his his ability to play guitar, bass, sitar, keys and drums, combined with his quest for the "ultimate" cool old sample, Dex's remixes and originals stand out within the dance genre. As a burgeoning remixer, Dex has worked on tracks by Sinead O'Connor, Richard Morel, and Clare Quilty. Dex's first vinyl release (ltd. pressing: 500 copies) featured a pumped up, house version of Stevie Wonder's "I Wish", and a house remake of Deep Purple's "Hush" with vocals by Aimee Real. This piece was serviced to Billboard DJ's and radio mix shows across the country. The DBC's debut CD "Listen" led to them winning the Independent Music Awards "Best Electronic Artist" in 2001.
