Roberto Blades

Roberto Blades is a Panamanian singer, producer, producer and arranger, currently living in Florida. He started off in a salsa band called Orquesta Inmensidad in 1981. The band was signed by the tropical/salsa label Fania Records, which then offered Blades a contract and he remained there for 10 years, writing several notable songs, including "Lagrimas."In 1992 he became a writer/producer for Emilio Estefan Enterprises, which led to two Grammy Awards, in 2000 and 2001. He has worked with Gloria Estefan, Jon Secada, Alejandro Fernández and Thalía, to mention a few. In 1997 Blades signed a contract with EMI Latin.
