The roots of this band involve the reissue of a The Sons - I'm Gone (which was arranged without the band's knowledge by their manager Mike Friedman), under the name The Magic Mushroom. After the single's release a new band was formed with the following personnel

John Buell -- drums, vocals
Carl Conte -- Vocals, Drums
Steve Bingham -- Lead guitar
Phil Robinson -- Rhythm guitar
Mike Lowther -- Bass

This lineup relocated to New York City, at which point Bingham and Robinson dropped out and were replaced by two members of The Lyrics: Chris Gaylord and Michael Allen

The band changed their name to Love Special Delivery, recorded some demos, but nothing was released.
