Ricardo Palmerín Pavia (April 3, 1887 - January 30, 1944) was a Mexican musician and composer, born in Tekax, Yucatan, and died in Mexico City. Author of the music of Peregrina, song that with lyrics by the poet Luis Rosado Vega was created in 1922 at the request of the governor of Yucatan, Felipe Carrillo Puerto, to give to the American journalist Alma Reed.He is a composer admired in Mexico and particularly in his land, Yucatan, where prizes, composition competitions and even periods in his name have been created; the year of 1987, commemorating the centenary of his birth, was called the year of Ricardo Palmerín in Yucatán
