Real name: Thomasina Winifred Montgomery

American R&B/Soul singer and songwriter, died prematurely at age 25 of brain cancer.

Born: April 29, 1945 // Philadelphia, PA, United States.
Died: March 16, 1970 // Philadelphia, PA, United States.

Prior to her fame at Motown, at the age of 15 she was first discovered, and approached to record and sign a contract, by Luther Dixon who signed her to Wand Records in New York, A division of Scepter Records.

Recording using her real name of Tammy Montgomery, at age 16 her first release for the Scepter label was, 'If You See Bill' b/w 'It's Mine', which was released on Scepter 1224, 06-Nov-1961.
