Silvia Kaffke was born in Duisburg in 1962 and studied journalism and German language and literature in Bochum. Her professional career took her to the Duisburg filmforum, among other places, and she worked as a copywriter, editor and secretary. Silvia Kaffke currently works in PR management. Messerscharf, her first crime novel about the BKA profiler Barbara Pross, was filmed for SAT 1 with Ann Kathrin Kramer in 2001. Silvia Kaffke is the recipient of the Cultural Promotion Award of the City of Düsseldorf. She lives in Duisburg and works in Erkrath near Düsseldorf.
