Harlem World Crew
Effective period / Period of releases: 1980 - 1981
Members: Alonzo Brown, Ronald Greene, Son Of Sam (7), Charlie Rock (5)
Harlem World Crew was a name created by Jack Taylor, who owned Tay-Ster and the famed Harlem World club of the late 70s and early 80s. He spotlighted regulars at the club on the records. This wasn't a group, per se, but a brand that promoted Harlem World's burgeoning hip-hop scene. Rappers who appeared on the handful of Harlem World Crew 12-inches include resident DJ Lovebug Starski, Lady Smiley, Charlie Rock, Son of Sam (7) and Dr. Jeckyll & Mr. Hyde.
