Married to professional cricketer Bill Lawton.
She started her theatrical career at the Palace, Manchester when she was twelve as one of "Eileen Rogan's Drury Lane Babes". Her films were numerous, culminating in Shelagh Delaney's "A Taste of Honey", for which Bryan received the British Film Award for "The Finest British Actress of the Year."
She was awarded the Laurence Olivier Theatre Award in 1995 (1994 season) for Best Actress in a Supporting Role for her performance in "The
Birthday Party".
