Guitarist Fredrik Åkesson quit Talisman to create a new project called Eyeball with drummer Richard Evensand, bassist John Levén and singer Mats Levén. The band changed their name to SouthPaw a few months later. Later they were promoting the 1998, self titled debut album, supported DIO on his November Swedish dates that year. As an additional note the album cover was originally intended to be used for Yngwie J. Malmsteen's "Facing the Animal" album, but was rejected.
