American jazz and pop singer from Chicago, Illinois. She joined Art Kassel's orchestra in 1942, and she sang with him until 1965. She started singing with George Olsen's band at age 14, and she sang briefly with The Raymond Scott Orchestra, as well as Phil Levant's orchestra before joining Kassel.
