A Virginia-based songwriter, singer, and guitarist who had been recording albums since 1976, had been in bands with Bruce Springsteen, co-wrote songs with Timothy B. Schmit of the Eagles, won the American Song Festival twice, and wrote tons of music for commercials and films.
