Swedish composer and professor, born 9 August 1944 in Nybro, died 7 January 2005 in Stockholm. He studied organ at the Royal College of Music in Stockholm 1962–1968 and studied composition for Ingvar Lidholm 1968–1971. He was a teacher of counterpoint and composition at the Royal Academy of Music from 1973 until his death.
For a period, the Hungarian composer György Ligeti was frequently present as a guest lecturer at the Stockholm Academy of Music, something that came to mean a lot to Rosell, at least as much as the encounter with the new American music of the time, represented by Morton Feldman and Terry Riley, who also belonged those who visited the Academy of Music.
