Band from Sioux City, Iowa. Originally formed as The Screamers in 1958, but changed their name to The Flairs after a lineup change. After releasing their first single and getting signed to a record label, the band name was changed to The Velaires and their first single was re-released under their new label using this new name. The inspiration for the name change came after they had played a show at the Val Air Ballroom. After breaking up in 1963, some members continued on as Danny & The Velaires.
