Biography

ОРКиКО
Members: Олег Шавкунов, Николай Рубанов, Дмитрий Озерский, Михаил Коловский, Николай Бичан
Experimental group from Saint Petersburg, Russia. Originally formed in the form trio under the name "О.Р.К." (or "ОРК", abbreviation of "Озерский Рубанов Коловский") by Dmitry Ozersky (keyboards, trumpet) with other "Auktyon" musicians - Nikolai Rubanov (saxophone) and Mikhail Kolovsky (tuba).According to the story of the project participants, the band was formed by chance. Translator Andreas Tretner (translated Pelevin, Sorokin, etc. into German), working on Ozersky's poems from the children's book "Where...", suggested Dmitry read poetry in Russian in parallel with his reading of the translations. Dmitry Ozersky (keyboards, trumpet) invited other "Auktyon" musicians - Nikolai Rubanov (saxophone) and Mikhail Kolovsky (tuba) - to formalize and reveal this process. This is how the ORK project (Ozersky, Rubanov, Kolovsky) came into being.
And in 2017, the band grew to include guitarist, composer, arranger and sound producer Nikolai Bichan (SoHm Project, Bichan Orchestra) and percussionist Oleg Sharr (Aquarium, Obermaneken, Ole Lukoie, Welcome to the Club), who composed "KO" (Kolya and Oleg). At concerts, John Kukaryamba played instead of Sharr several times, and Sergei Letov played instead of Nikolai Rubanov.
