Ulrike Neradt was born in Martinsthal, Rheingau. In 1990 she gave up her regular job to pursue her artistic calling. She is still active as a cabaret artist, chansonette and book author.Together with the television chef Johann Lafer, Ulrike Neradt hosted the popular television program “Fröhlicher Weinberg” from 1994 to 2007, in which she also regularly sang a chanson live. The radio couple “Gerda and Walter” could be heard on SWR 4 from 2007 to 2013 with weekly changing sketches. Her partner was the well-known Mainz Fassnachter Norbert Roth, who also wrote the lyrics.
