Irene Konitopoulou-Legaki (nicknamed Κυρά του Αιγαίου -Lady of the Aegean- or Αηδόνι του Αιγαίου -Nightingale of the Aegean-) was a Greek folk singer of the Cycladic style. Born 15 December 1931 in Keramoti, Naxos island, Greece - Died 28 March 2022 in Athens, Greece.
In 1951, she settled in Athens and became especially known for the collaboration of the National Radio Foundation (EIR) with Simon Karas. Together with her brother Yorgos and her daughter Eleni, they charted an important course in the field of Nisiotika folk music.
She was the daughter of Μιχάλης Κονιτόπουλος and sister of Γιώργος Κονιτόπουλος, Κώστας Κονιτόπουλος, Αγγελική Κονιτοπούλου & Βαγγέλης Κονιτόπουλος. Niece of Δημήτρης Φυρογένης. Cousin of Κούλα Κονιτοπούλου. Sister-in-law of Αικ. Κονιτοπούλου. Mother of Ελένη Λεγάκη. Aunt of Νάσια Κονιτοπούλου (Yorgos' daughter), Στέλλα Κονιτοπούλου (Angeliki's daughter), Βασίλης Κλουβάτος (Angeliki's son), Μαρία Κονιτοπούλου (Angeliki's daughter], and Μιχάλης Κονιτόπουλος (2) (Vangelis' son).
In 1979, the five siblings opened the legendary 'Muragio' club together, which closed in the late 1980s.
