Rip Basset
Real name: Arthur Bassett
Jazz banjo and guitar player, nicknamed "Rip", born October 25, 1903.Bassett recorded with Ma Rainey and Albert Wynn in 1926, and with Louis Armstrong in 1927. Later played with Boyd Atkins 1929-1930, Junie Cobb 1931, Carroll Dickerson 1934-1935. "Retired from music; has worked in a Chicago machine plant for many years."
