Project of San Diego, California musician "Swami" John Reis (of Rocket From The Crypt, Hot Snakes, The Night Marchers, and Plosivs). Following the release of Ride The Wild Night (2022) under the name "Swami John Reis", he renamed the group Swami And The Bed Of Nails.

Reis plays most of the instruments on recordings, along with drummer Jason Kourkounis (Hot Snakes, The Night Marchers) and keyboardist Joe Guevara. The live band consists of Reis, Guevara, guitarist Mark Murino (Dirty Sweet; he and Guevara were also previously in Jejune and Lovelight Shine), bassist Tommy Kitsos (The Night Marchers), and drummer Richard Larson.
