Black Country historian, songwriter, actor, comedian, singer, writer, performer and producer.
Father of Paul Raven, former member of Killing Joke, and Daniel Raven, former member of Gundogs.
He jointly set up the Broadside label (UK) with his father and brother, and was a member of "The Black Country Three" with his brother Michael Raven, with whom he also recorded the Wolverhampton Folk Club EP.
Jon was born in Wales and educated at Wolverhampton Municipal Grammar School.
Alongside brother, Michael, Jon produced many records and books while also having numerous television and radio appearances.
He was diagnosed with Parkinson's disease in 1996 and died in August 2015 at Compton Hospice in Wolverhampton.
