McHan worked in the entertainment world for a number of years with groups like Jim & Jesse and he wrote over a hundred songs that have been record edby various artists, like Loretta Lynn ("The Pill") and Waylon Jennings. He charted in the U.S. with "The Pill" by Loretta Lynn in 1975 (co-written by Lorene Allen & T. D. Bayless). Thee song hit #5 country and #70 overall.
