He spent four seasons with the Metropolitan Opera Company (1946-1947, 1949-1950). In the late 1930's-early 1940's, he sang with the Victor First Nighter Orchestra. In 1948 he sang with the Leo Reisman Orchestra.
In acting, he is best known for his role as Tom-Tom in the 1934 Laurel and Hardy holiday musical film Babes in Toyland.
