Born on 12.01.1952 in Springfield, Illinois.
In 1985 he married the singer Lillian Tynes.
He started his solo career in late 80's after the demise of duo Perry & Sanlin, an act he had with Kevin Sanlin with whom they were members of the early 70's soul group The Montclairs.
He has done lots of session work as back vocalist in a wide range of artists' recordings - from Aretha Franklin to Lee Ritenour and Toto.
