Real name: Cheb Bakr

Bakr (arabic : الشاب بكر) is a Moroccan singer and composer in the Chaabi, Reggada and Raï style, born in the 80s, in Berkane (Morocco). At a very young age, he learned the basics of the guitar and began singing, first for his cousins ​​and neighbors, then at small local private parties and weddings. Skillfully artist, he mixes all Moroccan styles and Algerians influences, whether modern or traditional, in order to create a unique genre that belongs only to him. Bakr also enjoys covering classic songs by artists, such as “Lala Maryama” by Cheb Douzi, “Al Horm ya rassoul lah” by Malhoune or even “Wedi Hay Wedi” by Cheb Khaled. Although today living in Belgium, Bakr nonetheless remains an important figure in Moroccan musical life, of which he is undoubtedly one of the best representatives.
