MELA is Mariana Fernandes Gonçalves and was born in Funchal in 1997. She lived until she was 18 on the island of Madeira, where she participated in several singing and acting competitions. From an early age she formally learned to play the guitar and piano and since the age of 10 she has been writing her own poems.

In 2016 she participated in The Voice Portugal and in 2019 she started composing her songs and in 2020 composing for other artists. She states that her songs “are like a diary turned into a sung story”. In 2020 she took the Music Production and Creation Course at ETIC.

Mariana is a medical student, dentist and artist, living life in a balance between the three with a very clear focus: music, the stage and her album of originals scheduled for release in 2024 .
