Alwin Müller

German composer of marches (1839 Löbau, Saxony -1916 Dresden, Saxony)

Müller was Stabstrompeter (staff trumpeter) of the 1. Sächsischen Husarenregiment Nr. 18 in Großenhain, Saxony. On the occasion of his 25th service anniversary, King Albert of Saxony awarded him the title "Königlicher Musikdirigent" (Royal Music Director).

Best known for his "Parademarsch Der 18. Husaren" (a.k.a. "Defiliermarsch im Schritt des 1. Husaren-Regiments König Albert Nr. 18"). In Chile, this march became the regimental march of the Húsares de la Muerte de Angol (now 3rd Armored Cavalry Regiment) under the title "Húsares de la Reina" ("Hussars of the Queen").
