Shylock

Effective period / Period of releases: 1976 - 2016

Members: Frederic Lepée, André Fisichella, Didier Lustig, Serge Summa

Shylock is a French, instrumental progressive rock trio (who expanded to a quartet) from Nice that were active in the early to mid 1970's. Their very French style also had notable King Crimson influences due to the Frippian guitar of Frédéric L'Épée and expressive Bruford like drum work of André Fisichella, but with the keyboards of Didier Lustig taking the music to original different realms. Guitarist Frédéric L'Épée later played in Philharmonie.

As of 2012, they started giving concerts again, as well as releasing a DVDr. In 2014, it was anounced that Luca Mariotti will replace Didier Lustig on keyboards, and in April 2022 it was announced that they will start re-recording and reissuing old stuff, just like on their 2016 Best Of album.
