Pure Joy were a pop rock band from Seattle, WA formed in the mid '80's as The Dwindles and later renamed themselves Pure Joy after the Teardrop Explodes song. The original lineup was Rusty Willoughby (vocals, guitar), Lisa King (bass), Randy Willoughby (keyboards) and Jim Hunnicutt (drums). After recording Welcome to My New Psychotic Dream Randy had been replaced by future Nirvana soundman Craig Montgomery. The band then stripped down to a three-piece, with Andy Davenhall taking over on drums. Pure Joy then disbanded in 1990 until the mid 1990s when Rusty, Jim, and Lisa reformed Pure Joy and put out two more full-lengths.
