Since forming in 1988, Ripped has described the style of Metal they play as " Crypticore"

Ripped is a progressive thrash/death metal band from North Canton, Ohio, USA, that was formed in 1988 under the name R.I.P.T.. The band changed its name during the same year to Ripped. Moved to Tampa, Florida, in 1993, and moved again to Houston, Texas, where the band would split up in late 1994.

In the early 2000's Rick and Fred played together in the band Ciao Bella (3). This was the first time they played together since Ripped.
