Charles Lofthouse
Real name: Charles Leonard Lofthouse
b. 17 Jan 1883, Nassau, New Providence, B.W.I.Bahamian composer-musician-producer. Frequent collaborator with Wolfe Gilbert on Tin Pan Alley and Alice Simms in the goombay-junkanoo styles. Noted for "Mama Don't Want No Peas An' Rice An' Cocoanut Oil" and "Delia Gone." Co-founder, with brother T.H.C. Lofthouse, of the Lofthouse Record Company and the Lofthouse Agency both of Nassau, New Providence.
