Axis is a hard rock/heavy metal band from Stockton-on-Tees, North East England, England, United Kingdom, that was formed in 1978. The band was part of the NWOBHM movement and split up in 1981. One of a few bands called Axis from the United Kingdom in the early 80s, that had only one release while active. Therefore not to be confused with Axis (37), Axis (57) from Liverpool and Axis (75) from Leicester. Also not to be confused with Axis from Stoke-on-Trent, another metal band.
