Real name: Brett Kevin Wilcots

DJ and producer from Iowa.
Wilcots moved to Chicago in 1979 and, in 1981, opened influential record store Importes, Etc. with Paul Weisberg; Wilcots worked there until late 1984.
His remix of an unreleased Salsoul song, September - Are You Free Tonight, in 1984, with Erasmo Rivera, is the earliest record labelled with the phrase “house mix” – or the term “house".
Wilcots ran Gherkin Records / Gherkin Records, Inc. with Jim Stivers from 1988 to 1991.
He now resides in Des Moines, Iowa.
