Денница ("Danica") means Dennitsa. In Slavic mythology, it is a personified image of the morning star, heralding the beginning of the day (or midday, morning dawn). Currently, it is an outdated name for the last “morning star” that goes out in the sky, the planet Venus.

The analogue of Dennitsa in ancient Greek mythology is Phosphorus, in Roman mythology - Lucifer.
