Biography:
Georg Cordts * 6.5. 1927 in Minden +16.3.2012 in Bonn
Renate Cordts * 1. 2. 1935 in Versmold
Georg Cordts: Abitur at Gütersloh grammar school, police constable in Minden, studied law and political science in Hamburg and Münster. Freelance employee at the “Haller Kreisblatt”, Westphalia. After passing the assessor exam, he worked for the Federal Customs Administration, the Münster Chief Finance Directorate and the Federal Ministry of Finance. Most recently, Georg Cordts was Ministerial Director at the Federal Ministry of Food. After a change of minister, he was temporarily retired and finally had enough time for his literary work. In addition to the crime novels he wrote with his wife under the pseudonym “Georg R. Kristan”, Georg Cordts published a non-fiction book about aviation under his own name and as a sole author.
Renate Cordts completed commercial school and trained as a photographer.She is married to Georg Cordts and works as a clinical photographer and leader of anti-stress courses in addition to her work as a writer in the “Georg R. Kristan” team of authors.
Under the pseudonym “Georg R. Kristan”, the team of authors has published a new crime novel every year since 1985.The focus is always on current or speculative criminal cases with political subplots.The “Kristan” novels are usually set in Bonn, the German capital at the time, and the authors developed the characters of “Chief Inspector Freiberg” and his colleague “Lupus” from the local homicide squad as series heroes.
