Appaloosa was signed to the Columbia label by Al Kooper. They recorded one album in 1969. In 2005 there was a reunion with the original members and plans to record another album, but short after only John Compton stayed. In 2012 John Compton releases an album with his daughter Vanessa and Bob McCarthy.
