The Teckels

Members: Dirk Van Der Horst, Ab Baas, Ton de Boer (2)

Dutch beat band from The Zaan region, emerged from the Zaanse 'The Rockets', 'The Vibrations' plus rhythm guitarist Rien Zwaan, former bandmember of 'The Skunks'.
Two singles of The Teckels were released in 1967 by Willem Duys' Relax label. The Relax label released other Dutch artists like The Outsiders (5), Short '66 and The Zipps.
After the start at the end of 1965, the band quickly built up a solid live reputation in the Zaan region. The Teckels were one of the most popular live bands in the 1960s.
The group played throughout the Netherlands and also performed with Veronica's Drive-in Show in the late 1960s. In 1970 the group was disbanded.
Bandmembers were: Piet Evers (bass guitar), Rien Zwaan (rhythm guitar), Dirk van der Horst (solo guitar), Ab Baas (drums) and Ton de Boer (2) (vocals).
