Jon Vaughn
Real name: Jon Vaughn
Jon Vaughn (they/he) is a multidisciplinary artist, curator, independent publisher, and experimental musician, electronic music producer and DJ based in Treaty 4, Regina, Saskatchewan. The force behind labels Absolute Perspective and Virtual Communications, Vaughn's former label projects include Pop Quiz Records, Pop Quiz Ltd, Etagramulfabetz, BricoLodge, and Telepathy Tapes. Vaughn's alias' include VC Vibes, Trancer, Dreamaniac, Phlegm Gadget, and Search, Click & Destroy, and has performed and recorded in such groups as Slime Street (with Dallas Kruzelnicki aka Greenmist), Nuthre & Vaughn (with Jeff Morton), Mennonoise (with Jacob Audrey Taives aka Holzkopf), Wizards from the End of Time (with Nem Gostimirovic aka Nem240/Tapenga), War Morning/Scans (with Will Kaufhold aka Form), Heffy Methal (with Malcolm Sailer etc), St. Thomas Discipline (with Jacob Audrey Taives and Brennan 'Knar' Hart), This Island Ugetsu (with Chad Munson and Terry Matson), and the Cyan Askesis Ensemble (with Max Haiven, Nick McCormick, Vera Ronkos, Jeff Morton, J.P. Perron, Jacob Audrey Taives, Alvin Buckwald, Malcolm Sailor, Neil Jones, and Julian Day).Vaughn has also performed, recorded and releasing collaborative albums with Alexandre St-Onge, Toshimaru Nakamura, William Davison, Tim Olive, Sidhartta Talukdar, Max Haiven, Aime Dontigny, Cal Crawford, David Turgeon, Ames Sanglantes, Joshua Padarathsingth, Sarah Krawec, Steven Reed, Scant Intone, and many more.
Currently, as of 2024, Vaughn is a member of the Regina-based Holophon Audio Arts Collective, works at the Digital Media Studio as a Digital Media Specialist at the Regina Public Library and is a candidate for the the Masters of Visual Arts program at the University of Regina.
