Creeping out from the shadowy underbelly of urban Los Angeles, IN COVERT makes modern music, exploring sci-fi and horror themes woven inextricably into an amalgam of gothic tinged punk, doom metal, shoegaze and industrial. An apropos soundtrack to the many real horrors of modern life, In Covert’s music is by turns beautiful and devastatingly brutal.

In Covert began in 2019 as a musical vehicle for multi-instrumentalist Wes Lopez (La Ghost, Channel), playing shows and releasing singles featuring a rotating cast of players, including a drum machine. In late 2022, the band’s lineup began to solidify with the addition of Oscar Ruvalcaba (The Warlocks, All Your Sisters, La Ghost, Flaamingos) on drums and was complete with the addition of Kris Balocca (Phaeic, Urns & Argyles) on bass and vocals in January 2023.
