American jazz singer. Married to pianist Mike Greensill. For the last four decades of her life, she used a wheelchair and was carried to the stage to perform by her husband, after being paralyzed from a stray bullet that hit her spine. She dropped the "i" from her first name after recording her first two CDs for HighNote, so this is the same artist as Wesla Whitfield. Born September 15, 1947, died after a battle with cancer on February 9, 2018.
