Real name: Aurino Quirino Gonçalves

Brazilian Carimbó singer and composer, born on June 4th, 1937 in Igarapé-Miri, Pará, Brazil. In the early 1970s, he innovated a modernized version of the traditional Paraense rhythm of Carimbó, accompanied by brass instruments, electric guitar and bass. From 1973 until 1990 he produced LPs almost every year, and also composed and arranged songs for other artists of Northern and Northeastern Brazilian music, working along with producer Carlos Santos at the Gravasom label as well. In 1976 Pinduca's band recorded the first example of the "Lambada" rhythm on his 5th LP, which later became a success in the 1980s.
