is a Frisian guitarist from The Netherlands
After trying a number of wind instruments in primary school, he discovered the guitar at the age of 13 after seeing a concert by Shakey Sam, a blues hero in the north of the Netherlands. The sports clubs and all other activities were canceled immediately and a band was formed after which he really got the hang of it.

Countless bands, sessions (with Huub v/d Lubbe, Rob Hoeke, Bert Heerink) and projects followed, including the collaboration with guitarist Erwin Java, which resulted in the album 'Tracks of the Past'. This includes Herman Brood, Harry Muskee, Eelco Gelling, Tineke Schoemaker and childhood hero Alvin Lee (Ten Years After).

Rik also played for a long time with Jan Giro, well known in the Frisian Rock & Roll circuit, and he accompanied many other artists on their records as well as during their live show
