Country, surf and roots rock bassist. Esbeck worked as a session musician in Nashville, Tennessee and was a member of instrumental garage / surf rock band Los Straitjackets from 1994 to 1996. Esbeck moved from Nashville to Austin, Texas in 1996. In 2001, he joined Charlie Robison’s backing band The Enablers. He has also performed with artists including Jack Ingram, Jon D. Graham, Kelly Willis, and The Sweethearts of the Rodeo.
