Real name: Эдуард Афанасьевич Серов

Soviet and Russian conductor. Honored Art Worker of of the RSFSR (1970) and People's Artist of the RSFSR (1990). Father of Юрий Серов.
Born: September 9, 1937, Moscow, USSR

His resume includes being the one-time artistic director of the Ulyanovsk Philharmonic Orchestra, as well as that of the Leningrad Chamber Orchestra of Early and Contemporary Music / Ленинградский Оркестр Старинной И Современной Музыки (1974-1985).
Since 1987 Eduard Serov has been Artistic Director and Principal Conductor of the Volgograd Philharmonic Orchestra, and he has been Chief Conductor in Odens (Denmark).

His education includes graduating from the Moscow Sveshnikov Choral School, Gnesyny Institute and the Kiev Conservatory. Following that he took a postgraduate course at the Leningrad Conservatory under Yevgeny Mravinsky, and later worked as his assistant at the Leningrad Philharmonic Orchestra.
In 1969, Serov became a prize-winner of the first International Contest of Conductors arranged by Herbert von Karajan in West Berlin.
