A contemporary classical composer, who played in jazz bands at an early age and adapted two of his symphonic works - based on the band "Crazy Horse" and jazzman "Charlie Parker" - for Yusef Lateef on the album "The Centaur and the Phoenix".

Mills' works include "Piano Concerto; "Flute Concerto"; "Theme And Variations For Orchestra"; "Oboe Concertino" and chamber pieces, some involving jazz groups. Mills wrote the score which accompanies the iconic film "On The Bowery".

His works have been performed by the likes of The Cleveland Symphony Orchestra and the Spartanburg Symphony Orchestra.
