Longplayers stands for energetic dance with an alternative tendency. Several dance styles come together in their own dynamic Longplayers sound based on nu skool breaks, drum 'n bass and old skool beats.
Longplayers was founded in the summer of 1999. Producer Bart Knol and scratcher Stephan van den Bos combine their forces and create a progressive dance formula, which made them win the 'Grote Prijs van Nederland' in the category Dance that same year. In 2000 vocalist Martin Hilkhuysen and live drummer Mathijs Beukema joined Longplayers. Started out as a dual formation, Longplayers has now become a professional, complete and unique band in the Dutch dance scene.
