Joe Sanders
Real name: Joseph L. Sanders
American jazz pianist, singer and bandleader, born October 15, 1896 in Thayer, KS, died May 14, 1965 in Kansas City, MO.With Carleton A. Coon led Coon-Sanders Novelty Orchestra, formed in Kansas City in 1920, from 1924 recording as Coon-Sanders Original Nighthawk Orchestra.
After Coon's death, Sanders continued to lead the band, as Joe Sanders Original Nighthawks until the end of the 1930s. During the 1940s he worked in Hollywood studios, and in the 1950s sang regularly with the Kansas City Opera.
