UK band which the brainchild were Steve Brendell and Rod Lynton.After leaving the psych-pop group Rupert's People they formed the Apple Band in 1970 with Apple Records producer Jack Oliver.
Brendell and Lynton quickly re-named the band Matchbox for a release on Micki Most's Rak label in 1971. The single failed to be an hit and both returned within Apple music Corps.
