Swedish composer, born on August 8, 1943 in Osby.

Among other things, he has written several operas and a commissioned work called Strindbergssvit. He was a student of Hilding Rosenberg, Karl-Birger Blomdahl and Ingvar Lidholm. In the larger orchestral works, mainly the eleven symphonies (1973–2006), he combines an epic attitude akin to Bruckner's and a contemporary often strictly structured tonal language.
